the Inn

Near the most beautiful pearls of the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi and Positano, the Locanda Costa Diva is found in Praiano. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility where every holidays becomes a special one.

A little bit of history

In the past, the inn was owned by the noble family Irace. They had bought and renovated an old farmhouse located in Praiano to transform it into an inn, where the local lords and their families used to go not only during summertime to relax during their holidays, but throughout the year: the area of Praiano, and more generally of the Amalfi Coast, in fact, is a great cornerstone not only for holidays in a hotel, but also to venture inland during periods when the wild animals are more abundant, for daring hunts. This is the reason why some rooms of the inn were marked with the name of "le poste" (“the position” in Italian) to hunt: hunting has been usually carried out during dawn time. Once the body has been rejuvenate, hence, vacationers idly indulged in the joy of fishing sardines and anchovies in the local sea.

When engineer Irace died, his only daughter, along with the settler of the farmhouse, found herself in trouble in managing the Locanda Costa Diva. At that time I bought the inn, and visited it during the month of December, 2003: despite the huge amount of tasks needed to complete the restructuring, in April 2004, the hotel was finally inaugurated.

Since then, thanks to the passion and selflessness that bind us to this wonderful corner of paradise, the successes have occurred in the management of the hotel, allowing us to provide an additional source of pride for the Amalfi Coast, its hinterland, its stunning scenery and its art de vivre .
